At our annual general meeting in April 2026, members of our Friends group raised the issue that a section of the asphalt footpath near St Paul’s Road was heavily disturbed by tree roots. This made the path very difficult for members of the public to use with a wheelchair or a stroller. We raised our concerns with our Canonbury ward councillors and Islington Council officers and they agreed to repair this section. The planned repairs have been scheduled to take place the week commencing 12 October 2026. During this time please expect a partial closure of the long section of the New River Walk near St Paul’s Road.
